Preservation Through Operation

Hole In One

The Scottish Fire Service Heritage Trust would like to express our gratitude to one of our members, Ricky Wedlock, for raising a total of £5200 on a sponsored golf event

The money raised has been shared by ourselves and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Family Trust, another worthy cause, that helps firefighters and their families in their time of need

Ricky completed 3 rounds of golf, at Sandyhills Golf Club, wearing full fire gear recently and was supported by his friends throughout the day willing him on and joining him during his play

We don’t know what his final scoring was off the tee, although he threw in a couple of twitcher words like “birdies, eagles and an albatross” in his description of how the day went

The monies raised will help us in our works to carry out much needed maintenance of our fleet and support the Heritage Museum, that we staff, in Greenock. Both of these areas have been subjected to reduced funding during the COVID pandemic, with our interaction with local and international visitors being severely curtailed
