This was one of the first Dennis TSD233 Sabres purchased by Dorset Fire Brigade. It was one of a pair and had coachwork by John Dennis Coachbuilders. When new it was placed on the run at the new Bridport Retained Fire Station in Sea Road in the summer of 1995. It stayed there until about 2008 when it went to the reserve fleet.
Originally it was fitted with a front mounted winch but Dorset Fire Brigade decided to remove these winches from all their Sabres at some point. The Dennis TSD233 Sabre dimensions are:- overall length 7104mm, width over wings 2306mm, height over cab roof 2714mm and wheelbase 3800mm.
The appliance is owned by Trust member Jamie McNab and his wife Doris. It will be on the Events Circuit with the Heritage Trust during many seasons in the future
