D999 SSU Scania G82M Water Tender Ladder

This appliance was one of the first Scania Water Tender Ladders to be imported into the U.K. Another product of Fulton & Wylie, it spent much of its early life as a demonstrator travelling throughout the country advertising Scania’s breakthrough into the U.K. fire appliance market.

On return to Strathclyde Fire Brigade, it served at Castlemilk, Calton then at Stepps.

On retirement from operational duties in 2000 the vehicle was refurbished by Reliable Vehicles and is now on permanent loan to The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust.
