Braidwood Commemorative coin
To celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Fire Service and commemorate the first “Master of Fire Engines” James Braidwood, a coin has been commissioned that shows the emblem of the Edinburgh Fire Engine Establishment, and the man himself. Accompanying the coin, we have an insert which gives a brief description of Braidwoods life and work highlighting the pivotal role he had in the formation of the Edinburgh and London Fire Brigades.
These coins are now on sale price £15 each ( +£3 post and packaging ) and can be ordered by emailing the Heritage Trust, sales@sfbheritagetrust.org your order will be processed and mailed out to you.
Alternatively the coins can be purchased when visiting either of the Fire Museums (Museum and Heritage Centre, Greenock & Museum of Scottish Fire Heritage, Edinburgh).
