Braidwood Commemorative coin

Braidwood Commemorative coin

To celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Fire Service and commemorate the first “Master of Fire Engines” James Braidwood, a coin has been commissioned that shows the emblem of the Edinburgh Fire Engine Establishment, and the man himself. Accompanying the coin, we have an insert which gives a brief description of Braidwoods  life and work highlighting the pivotal role he had in the formation of the Edinburgh and London Fire Brigades.

These coins are now on sale price £15 each ( +£3 post and packaging ) and can be ordered by emailing the Heritage Trust,  sales@sfbheritagetrust.org   your order will be processed and mailed out to you.

Alternatively the coins can be purchased when visiting either of the Fire Museums (Museum and Heritage Centre, Greenock & Museum of Scottish Fire Heritage, Edinburgh).
